São Paulo Coast has 90 catalogued beaches. Surf beaches backed by the Serra do Mar mountains, a car-free caiçara fishing village and the state's only Blue Flag beach, a few hours from São Paulo city.
High season runs from July to mid-September. Outside it prices fall 30 to 50 per cent and most access points, restaurants and local transport keep running.
