The NH Gran Hotel Provincial stands on Mar del Plata's beachfront, in the heart of Argentina's Atlantic Coast region, roughly 200 metres from Playa Bristol — the distance listed on the hotel's own Booking.com page. NH Hoteles won a public tender in 2004 and formally signed the concession on 18 June 2008, for a 30-year term with a possible 15-year extension. A €30 million renovation followed: the hotel reopened in stages between November 2008 and early 2009, the pool was restored in 2009, and the casino's gaming room resumed operations on 2 January 2010.
